Consider a map of the world.

For every country you recognize there are much more we know very little about. There are peculiar customs, bizarre traditions, questionable manners and beguiling mother tongues.

But enough about Wales.

American born, I was raised from a young age on the English/Welsh border line in a town called Hay-on-Wye. In my formative years, I observed ever-increasing patriotic mentalities in those around me – cultural alliances nurtured from an association with whatever side of the border people felt the most attachment to.

Pride in one’s roots ensures a comforting sense of identity, belonging and origin.

Fast forward to the present day and I am still just as fascinated by humans and their strange little habits but I’ve been travelling as far and wide as I can since I was first left home. This blog is a collection of my observations , discoveries and quasi-philosophical musings to accompany my photographic souvenirs.

  1. Found your work via NatGeo’s YourShot assignment. We’ve been some of the same places and are on similar paths. Maybe one day they’ll cross. 🙂 Keep up the good work.
